Great Lakes Roving is dyed right here at Weir Crafts so you are getting custom colors no one else has! This wool roving is shorter stapled and dyed in gorgeous colors by our Master Dyer. It’s composed of several breeds of sheep from upper midwestern farms here in the USA and processed by a family-owned mill in its 4th generation, running since 1910! Needle felting artists love the versatility and ease of using our wool roving. We hit the nail on the head with this one.
Check out our Dani Ives colors. She is one heck of a fiber artist who agreed to try our new roving and loved it! We asked her to help us develop our new palette and boy did she come up with some outstanding choices! Carded Sliver (Roving)

$0.94 – $22.56 Select optionsSliver is similar to the ropey, carded, roving you are used to but with no twist to it. Sliver is a carded, lofty, strip of wool that is not slippery like the combed tops making it perfect for needle felting, wet felting and spinning. This is a new product for Weir Crafts and I chose it for the gorgeous, natural (undyed) colors as well as the earthy tones of the dyed colors. Various sheep breeds are used as you will notice in the names of each.

I purchase from a farm in Pennsylvania. These locks are stunning! This is raw fleece given a quick wash to get most of the lanolin and dirt off but still saves the lock structure. There will be bits of plant matter in the wool.
